The first one-piece plastic chair

  • The first one-piece plastic chair to be produced in one single pressing process for serial production. The fibreglass reinforced material was dyed before pressing and was available in white, yellow, black, red, blue, green, brown or orange.

    The characteristic shape was developed in regard to seating shape, maximum stability by smallest quantity of material used.

    The pressing process took place in a heated steel mould with a weight of 11 tons and lasted under 5 minutes.

  • A timeless clothes hanger for NK in Stockholm. Made of plastic this was a piece especially designed and produced for a total makeover of the first floor at NK department store. The new area was reffered to as ”The Fashion Floor” and shaped as a pedestrian street surrounded by different boutiques. Interior designer and architect Maurice Holland was leading the transformation.

  • When Bruno Mathsson designed a chair he was always aiming for the best and most correct seating. He experimented with curves and height and were driven by ergonomics and function. With Saga, the adjustable office chair on wheels, he took his time. He’s passing on his knowledge of form and function. Please be seated.
